BLM Personal Prefab Decon Facility at Clear Creek 4/18/08

This plan represents 5 prefabricated buildings each at 208 square feet for a total of 1040 square feet of enclosed space.

Each prefabricated building is about $50,000.  Times five, the cost for prefab units will be approximately $250,000.00.

The covered deck area is approximately 1,400 square feet. If we assume $140 per square foot considering some special installations,

the cost will be approximately $196,000.

Stairs and ramps would probably be around $20,000.

Mud area would probably be around $15,000.

Site prep work for foundations and drainage would be around $5,000.

I could see that the ball park cost of this facility could be somewhere between

$385,000, and $580,000.

Do you think they will claim that this is stimulating the economy like the other $787B of our tax dollars that they are wasting!

Here are some pictures from October, 2009.  There is not one mention of this new facility in the DEIS even though this facility has been in the planning stages from before the temporary closure went into effect!  What the hell have they been doing in the Hollister Field Office for 18 months that they could not incorporate information about and the reasoning behind this new facility?  All that is mentioned in the DEIS is the old decontamination facility, Section 8.  Why do they need to spend this kind of money for an area they are essentially closing to the public?  How many hours are they planning to have BLM employees working in the alleged hazardous asbestos zone?  Again, no mention of this in the DEIS!

The new decontamination facility is located on the left side of Clear Creek Road as you are heading into Clear Creek, just before where the entrance station was located.
